bits and bobbins

home sweet home.

some recent thrifty (and not so thrifty!) finds to decorate our new san francisco abode:

blue snail bank

gee's bend postcards
postcards from the gee’s bend quilt exhibition at the de young museum in golden gate park.
so inspiring.

japanese bowl

paint chips and wooden bowl
some paint colors i’m playing with for the new apartment. i’m leaning toward the tomato/red-orange hues, OF COURSE.

netherlands bowls
bowls from anthropologie. made in the netherlands. so pretty and unapologetically bold; i couldn’t resist.

thank you!

  1. I love ALL of the bowls and china and especially the snail! I’m so jealous of all of this amazing thrifty goodness that San Fran seems to hold. I’ve only briefly passed through there, this past summer on a motorcycle trip. I’ll have to go back at some point and scour the thrift stores.

  2. Lovely stuff!
Is the yellow and white piece in the last photo a vase or a lamp globe?
I can’t tell if the bottom is closed. It is very nice.

  3. aundrea: the yellow and white glass piece is a vase…it does indeed have a base.

mallory: you should come and scour the thrifts here, they are AMAZING.
