Hey Tricia

My name is Nina. I'm a 27 yr-old single mama living the vegan life in Portland, OR. I LOVE toast, the construction of clothing, pomegranate jelly, soul music, Betsey Johnson, sewing machines, fushia, veggie booty, fabric and hamming it up with my kiddos.

I*heart* you, your blog, your funky style and love for bright colors (I share the same love).

I have been reading your blog for about a year or so and started posting on Wardrobe Remix a few months back.

I will continue to admire both you and your blog...and who knows, I may even comment from time to time.

Lots of loveliness

My name is Chantal. I am 17 and a junior from Houston, TX. I have been reading your blog for at least a year. I love looking at the pictures you post and reading the things you write. You have often inspired me to start projects and I thank you for that.
You have such a personal sense of style and it's amazing! I also love grey and orange.
Grey with any color, actually. :)

Hi Tricia,
My name's Anusha, and I'm mononoke72 on LJ. I found your blog on a random search, and I'm so glad I found it! :-) Your thoughts, pictures and ideas are so inspiring. I've always been fascinated by colors, and am an avid thrift and vintage shopper too.

I'm from Sri Lanka, but have lived in the U.S. for a while ... in Sacramento, actually! All the countries in the Indian subcontinent, including Sri Lanka, use a lot more bright or just plain varied colors in art, clothes, home decor, etc., than western countries do. I really miss a life of being surrounded by color.

By the way, some of the best thrift stores in northern California are right here in the Sacramento Valley! You really should check them out. I've amassed some beautiful clothes and an amazing collection of gorgeous vintage handbags (the most expensive costing $20, since it was genuine crocodile; the rest didn't cost more than $5) from Sacramento thrift stores. Since very few people around here seem to know the value of them, I have a field day! :-)

Hi Tricia! I am from New York and now live in Los Angeles. I knit constantly -- or as close as my eight-month-old allows, which isn't actually anywhere close to constant anymore. I also crochet and sew a little. I am currently trying to reinvent my wardrobe because I am stuck with 40 extra pounds from my pregnancy and no clothes that look good. You've been a huge inspiration since I started reading (a while back, maybe two years) and I have gone from loving neutral, simple clothing with color for accents to loving all sorts of color and excitement. In my spare (ha ha) time I am a writer. I blog, I review books and movies, and I am trying to sell a screenplay.

hi, i'm jill aka olivia_gum on LJ. i started reading your blog after you posted pics of your apt in saucydwellings. i love your sense of color. i live above gramercy park in nyc and work as a performance manager at carnegie hall. i got engaged to my bf jack on christmas day. (yes, we really are jack + jill) i worked in the rock world for years and years and my life got sucked up by god-awful hours and sleepless nights. i lost alot of things, but mostly my sense of self. after a stressful search, i got the new job at carnegie (which i adore) in the fall and made a commitment to get back to being creative and things that inspire me. you inspire me. :)

Rachel Michaela of Stylebites!

I love to stop by and peek at your pictures. As a fashion editor/stylist I find these really inspiring as I do your DIY projects which remind me of when I used to make time for those things!

I don't have TV in my new flat but the DIY time seems to become "blogging" time. How do you ever prioritize to do both?

Keep up the good work!

Hi Tricia!

My name is Giselle, I'm 18 and I am brazilian. I live in the federal capital - Brasília - and I study Architecture and Urbanism in College, it's my second year now. I love art, design and fashion. As far as I can remember I've been drawing my entire life and now college is improving my skills.
In the future I want to graduate in Interior Design too because what I really like about Architecture is the lifestyle of different people. I don't wanna build bridges or towers. I want to build and decorate houses, restaurants, stores - because it deals with people directly and deeply.
In 2004 I found my mom's old sewing machine and I taught myself how to sew. Since then I've been even more addicted to fashion and D.I.Y. stuff. Last year I found your blog, don't know how exactly. But I find it truly inspiring and I'm always checking to see if you have updated. And seeing all the thrif stuff you find makes me really jealous - we don't have such things as thrift stores or charity shops around here... they are really hard to find and the stuff is usually crap. You inspire me so much that I now want to learn how to knit. But mom only knows how to crochet and I find knitting more beautiful. And we also don't have good magazines or books about this kind of stuff in portuguese.

That's it!

I first saw your blog through wardrobe remix. When I checked into your blog and saw that you loved patchwork and details and knitting, I added your feed!

I live in Philadelphia and am obsessed with making things, I oil paint, knit, bead, sew, needlework (cross stitch, needlepoint, embroidery) quilt, and my latest two projects are bead knitting a purse (on 0000 size needles!!!!) and I had remembered how much I liked Latch Hook as a child so I am making a rug for my foyer - it looks like a classic rug and is not a wolf or um tiger - ha!

I work at a local art school (University of the Arts) which I enjoy - it keeps me inspired! I also love to cook, love animals (2 dogs and 3 cats!!!) and have a very nice husband who also loves to make things (in this case films, music, photographs). We have a crazy olde turn of the century moonster house (7 bedrooms!) that needs a ton of work, but we are so busy working on our projects that it is going at a snail's pace! We bought it in 2000 and still don't have a proper kitchen (we have a makeshift one where I manage to cook each day, but...!!)

I also love to read, and am working my way through all the Dickens books presently, and started a book group to read James Joyce's Ulysses (we meet in a bar and drink Guiness and do 2 chapters a month).

I'm 37 years olde, and still haven't gotten over the 80s. :) I still love all of my "oldeskool artfag" music with a passion, and haven't really taken to most of the music beyond 1989. That being said, I am also obsessed with the 20s - 40s (I especially love vintage hairstyles and enjoy making them on myself) and some Victorian era techniques for needlework and knitting. I think things were made with more care back then! I like knits with small needles (I do not make anything with a needle size 1 or above myself) and love that things were made with care and beads and ribbon and time at home, and not all this thousands of dollar name brand piece of crap Emporers New Clothes stuff!!

OK - Enough! Nice ta meecha!

Tricia,
I read your blog all the time, I love it for ideas, style advice and thrifting stories. I currently live in Korea with my husband and also love all sorts of crafting and thrifting. Thank you for the entry about Eugenia Kim, I used to live in NYC right near her old studio and loved to walk past and admire her new designs. I have to pick up her book, thanks for the recommendation. Thanks for all the posts, it is truly a pleasure to read your blog. Good luck with everyting.
