wardrobe_remix(ers) o’ the week

it’s thursday! it’s time for wardrobe_remix(ers) o’ the week! these are but a few of the TREMENDOUSLY STUPENDOUS photos i had to choose from…and that’s no hyperbole. seriously, people…it’s really, really difficult to choose just a few when there are so many looks being rocked that are so terrific.

i say this all the time, but i’m shocked at how fast this group is growing. every week we add about 100 new members. not sure what’s tipping the scales, but it is really awesome! if you know, leave a comment! let me know where you’ve spread the word about the group, where you heard about it if it wasn’t me who told you about it and you just happen to be reading here. tell me what you like about the group, and if you’re a member and participating, what you like and get out of it! i’d love to hear from you.

it’s the first day of spring! not that it makes a huge difference here in SF, as it’s felt like spring for about a month already. here i’m in the studio where i sew/design/etc., aka, the other half of the living room in our miniscule hilltop flat. a pile of things i need to alter is to the left on the back of the chair. everything is a mess at the moment. but it is reality.

one of my favorite outfits of late, though not the best shot. my photographer is at work. :P

-green vintage enamel clip-on earrings: thrifted
-green vintage glass bead necklace: beacon’s closet, williamsburg, brooklyn.
-green lucite cocktail ring: alexis bittar
-gold bracelets/bangles: thrifted
-gold elgin watch: inherited from pete’s grandfather.
-red sweater i restyled recently: thrifted
-white tank with flourecent orange stripes: H&M
-red-orange tank: american apparel
-black acid wash jeans!!
-orange patent leather flats: steve madden

***

off to do some thrifting!

p.s. i added a BUNCH of street fashion blogs and websites and other cool blogs to the sidebar.  check them out if you haven’t already.  the best of the best, all for you.

if money was no object…

this week’s if money was no object… is all about the graphic and the colorblocked!

***

australia’s dinosaur designs has been a long time favorite of mine as far as accessories go. they just relaunched their website and have been showing off their lovely, colorful jewels and home accessories for all the world to see! i think these orange teardrop-shaped slightly dangly earrings are simple and lovely and have an organic, almost tropical feeling:

i’ve always had a fascination with all things medical and biological, particularly when they have to do with the human body. so i am particularly into these 19th century-inspired necklaces by etsy seller paraphernalia (from manchester in the UK), like this so-called ‘anatomica tooth necklace’. it would be a particularly fitting homage to the 3 wisdom teeth i recently had removed. HAH! love the oversized images of these objects…it elevates them, gives them a reverent importance:

i wasn’t enthusiastically bowled over by much of the fall collections in the past month (yes, i finally looked), but if this fendi leather patchwork bag is not me, i am not sure what is!:

i actually see this spirograph tee (from delia’s) under this amazing marimekko supergraphic strapless frock (from anthropologie):

these rainbow-y(!) colorblocked pumps from office in the UK are so loud and 80s in a way that i just love. i’ll never own them (because of that damn exchange rate that punishes americans!) but i still like looking at them…:
