[...] I spent my Christmas New Years break downsizing, recycling, de-cluttering and pulling my hair out to achieve a clutter-free zen-ish life. In between manic sorting, throwing, keeping and reminiscing, I took time to drink cold tea and visit lifestyle and organisation blogs to get tips on cutting clutter. Incidentally, I am now addicted to the famed Apartment Therapy that glamourises smart small-space living. I also think every woman can learn a great deal about belongings, style and sense of self by reading the wardrobe downsize guide by bits+bobbins.
I would REALLY love to see more pictures of what I hope is your closet. I really am converting a bedroom into a closet--not that I have that much (ok I do) BUT I really want to SEE everything at a glance and GROUPED (weekend, work, going out, glitz dressing, etc.).

Can you tell me more about it? (designer, company) more pictures PLEASE!! LOL

[...] Thu 12 Jul 2007 Posted by phoeknits under knitting , inspiration Inspired by these posts here, here and here on Bits and Bobbins, I cleaned out my closet yesterday. Further inspired by the same posts to make an inspiration board but unwilling to shell out £20 for fashion magazines, I turned to Flickr to find inspiration. I’m quite new to Flickr, getting an account only because of Ravelry. But I’m a convert now, I love it! [...]

I've done a good deal of de-cluttering of clothing and things over the past few years, but it never seems like enough. I've donate, sold and freecycled so many items, and I still have that sinking in stuff feeling. Yet, with all that I've given away, I only have ONE regret -- donating a mustard sweater that was my mother's. That's it -- ONE thing -- out of the mountain of stuff that has come and gone. Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston is great for tickling the brain as to why we hold on to items. It really helped me let go once I realized why I was holding on to certain things. The downsizing is a rampant theme on many blogs these days -- could we all be feeling the weight of our stuff? I look forward to the next two installments.
