fluoro diamond prints!
remember how i told you that i’m taking a silkscreening class at sfai? and that i pulled a print of diamonds as a test print a few weeks back?
well, i made a few prints on arches 100% cotton paper with fluorescent pink and orange inks the week after that. they are fun. here they are!
see?
i am really loving the silkscreening, the stretching into other mediums…beyond the fashion. oh yeah. and i’m getting all sorts of ideas, but…not room to do them. i wish i had room to do it in my current apartment/studio, but alas, this place is like a shoebox! *sigh*

ZenaI loooove them! And this is a bit of a random question, but speaking of mediums other than fashion… do you consider yourself a foodie at all? Because stylish and awesome people I know always seem to eat stylishly as well, and I saw in the organization posts that you have a heckton of Whole Foods bags.

triciazena:
what do you mean by eating stylishly? i am not sure i do, but…
i’d say so (that i am a foodie). i LOVE food, and i love good quality food….great beer, great cheese, great meat, great fruit. i try to eat in a diverse manner, try to eat all the food groups and i constantly want to eat differently depending on the day, as i am slightly obsessed with health and medicine and want to eat nutritionally. and i just like mixing it up (which is true for food and for my approach to life in general). i attempt to eat quality food (hence the WF bags!), primarily organic stuff if at all possible (unless i am eating out, though a lot of returants in SF do use organic ingredients, which is nice).
i get a lot of satisfaction with making food, though in the scheme of things i am probably rubbish at it.
i’m pretty adventurous, i’ll try just about anything food-wise, from whatever culture, being a rather curious person who, again, craves novelty. but i have to say, i am not a TOTAL snob about food…i do love to eat “junk” too, on occasion. life is about enjoyment, and food is a huge part of that….”good” and “bad” (for you) food both have their pleasures and i have to allow for some sinning on the food front. makes life interesting.
i’ll probably blog some about food in my new blog (http:///www.fotap.org/blog) that my husband pete and i are doing together. we cook at home a lot and we’re not gourmet chefs or anything, but we do try different things all the time and we have a good time with it. it’s something we do for eachother, but also just for the enjoyment of eating and of food itself.
blah, hopefully that all made sense!

ZenaEating stylishly… I’m not sure, never been too good at the putting-thoughts-into-words thing. But yeah, basically what you said! Enjoying good, healthy, delicious food and cooking, making things interesting and pretty… I totally know what you mean about craving novelty. So happy with your reply! Can’t wait to see you and pete’s food posts~
Well, I mean, take however long you need to. Good luck with the recently-mentioned hard times!
