i bought this leather skirt a while back, but today’s the first day i’ve ever worn it. i’m using my old tripod with my new camera. i need to get a remote control…it would make this easier, for sure. :)

i’m off to do some errands in a few. and then meet with friends later (in the early evening) in the haight.

-doorknocker earrings: fred flare booth at the maker faire
-clear acrylic cocktail ring with gold leaf: bought in paris in may, by jeweler pierre boisset
-recycled acrylic bangle: brazilian artist r. robral
-80s silk tank whose strap i tied with a gold shoelace: goodwill, haight street, SF, $1 clearance rack (gold shoelace from a shoe store on haight)
-80s leather pencil skirt that falls at my natural waist: goodwill, haight street, SF
-yellow t-strap snakeskin flats: paolo, hayes valley, SF
-gold elgin watch: belonged to my husband’s grandfather. it was my husband’s inheritance when his grandfather died. i wear it nearly every day.

as you can maybe tell from the relative silence around here, i am still taking a little break from posting as much…i’m feeling loads better.

but instead of writing and blogging and spending too much time on the web, i’ve been continuing to meet with friends, visit museums and gardens and libraries, eat lots of delicious food, and talk until my voice feels hoarse. my last week has been warmed by the company of friends. and i am savoring it.

but also, my days contain some work…and more work is to come, and it might continue to be a little quiet.

rest assured i’ll be back soon, in some greater capacity than i am currently. i have things to say, show, and do that will eventually be revealed. until then, i’ll drop in with little this-es and thats.

  2. pardon my french, but:

    holy shit!

love the colors mixed with black leather. that goes to show how lovely highwaisted is… you’ve inspired me head down the the buy-sell-trade shop on polk, to see if they got any wearable leather goods… and they do.

thanks for checking in with the posts, its really good to hear you’re feeling loads better!

  10. I always love the contrast of bright colours and black leather. It’s way more interesting than the obvious pairing of soft bright colours and delicate fabrics with black leather.
