(now i just need a cool bar cart to set it on!)

though i don’t smoke, i was entranced by the mod, simple, boldness of this ashtray (which can just as easily be put to use as a bowl for keys or candy, natch):

just pretty and loud and thus irresistible to the likes of me:

  1. Yes, I love that flea market. Haven’t been in a few months (although this is probably a good thing for my checkbook!)

  2. Eek. I forgot your b-day. Happy birthday!

  3. happy belated birthday :-)
great finds you got there, by the way!

  4. thanks for the b-day wishes! but you’re actually not belated…today’s my actual b-day. :)

  5. arg! i forgot yesterday was the first sunday of the month! oh well, i’ll have to wait until next month. btw, when i was visiting home in ohio last summer, i saw a set of 4 vintage bertoia chairs at an antique store on sale for $300 ($300 TOTAL, for all 4 chairs!!) shipping would’ve been difficult, but why o why didn’t i get them?!

  6. mbibelot: whoa! $300 for 4 is amazing! had in been in the same position, i might have had to *find* a way to get ‘em home! the amount of savings you would have yielded could have been thrown into the shipping! alas…20/20 hindsight, right?

it was sort of how i felt about this table yesterday…i liked it a lot and the price was so right, it was hard to leave without it, knowing it was likely to not be there the next time we were looking for something like it!

  7. good shit is so hard to resist. i love your birthday table. i’m a sucker for great furniture. happy birthday, lady!

  8. oops, sorry, i didn’t understand well what was going on :-P

    have a good one then!

  9. As usual, I’m coming late to your post. Happy birthday! Enjoy that gorgeous table. I’ll be dreaming about it this evening.

  10. so, i’m crazy-go-nuts in love with how the colors of the pin and the fabric in the first picture are EXACTLY the same colors as the labels on your card-cataloguey-organizer in the background. IN. LOVE.

  11. Sweet finds! I have the nifty bar cart, I need to find a cute pitcher and glasses set similar to this…..and I covet the pedestal bowls!
