ungh. been bad again. but i’ve been feeling under the weather for a few weeks, so…that’s life.
this is what i call my “uniform”, i.e. the pieces i have been wearing nearly non-stop lately (particularly the hoodie, jeans and boots), and by non-stop i mean about the last two months, because it’s all so damn comfortable.
-long two-way black hoodie: dunderdon (a danish workwear brand); bought in nyc
-black tank and longsleeve thermal, unseen: UO
-black acid wash jeans: UO
-black boots of amazingness: frye
-african print scarf, tied in bow: UO
-red alpaca beret: knit by me last year
-black enamel hoop earrings: thrifted, vintage
this is pete, my awesome husband and code-monkey extra-ordinare. this is his uniform of late.
-gray military style jacket: g-star raw
-black cashmere sweater: uniqlo
-tan tee: AA
-dark denim jeans: energie (a miss sixty-related menswear brand)
-gray shoes: camper
do you have a “uniform”, too? if so, what is it? post a comment if you like and detail it!
i’m going to continue to take it a little slow the next couple weeks or so…sorry i’ve been so absent. taking some “me” time and attending to my health.
also, my apologies for not posting the wardrobe_remix(ers) o’ the week for a couple weeks now. will resume with that shortly.

NatalieMy uniform at the moment consists of a 50’s bathing suit and tights, or a dress and flats. It’s dull, but its so hot lately it makes me sluggish.
I wish you all the best for you recovery and “you” time

CaseyGreat outfit–I just love how comfy it looks!!
And don’t worry about absence or slower postings; taking care of yourself is far more important (this is coming from a gal who has was sick for nearly 3 months!)!!!
Sending you lots of well wishes and hope you feel better soon.

NatalieI love this post! I think about my “uniform” all the time. I usually feel my strongest in my wide legged pin stripe pants and any one of my dark blouses, with either one of my pony/ lamb/ sparkly guitar vintage brooches.

hoyanI do have a uniform! Not of singular clothes, but more of a style. It’s basically collared shirts, sweater/sweatervest and an a-line skirt with tights and boots/flat shoes. Mildly versatile but reliable
Get well soon!

MelissaI hope you feel better soon…:)
You’re wearing the Frye boots that I’ve been coveting for a while, now. I’ve searched for two months for a decent (less pricey) substitute, but to no avail!
Lately my ‘uniform’ has been a long cowlneck sweater (exaggerated by another layer of oversized scarf), slim jeans, and black round-toe flats. I need boots, though - it’s cold!

triciamelissa: they (the fryes) are pricey, but you know what, they are really worth it. the quality of the leather, design and construction is such that they are classic and could literally be worn repeatedly for years. i wear mine everywhere and with everything. one of the best purchases i have made in a LONG time.
also, as of at least a couple years ago (what i can find looking around on google very briefly) they were made in the USA, which is kind of amazing and against the grain considering the overwhelming trend for products to be manufactured overseas these days. which, if still true, probably contributes to their price. i really hope it’s still true, but..*sigh* who knows.

laurainteresting post and i’m happy to see you’re back.
i think i don’t really have an uniform, but i tend to wear lots of jeans if i’m a bit tired of dressing up or feel uncreative.
December 17 2007 at 3:23 am
jaynemy uniform definitely involves those same acid wash UO jeans! i cannot take them off, it seems. also, a grey deep v AA tshirt, and a little boy’s red hoodie, topped off with a scarf and white keds.
perfect for the (frequent) days i can’t be bothered to spend a lot of time thinking of what to wear.

AllyI love the beret. I’ve been wanting to knit lots of different hats because it’s so cold now that I don’t have my dreads! Who knew they kept me warm?
Lately I’ve been wearing this vintage cardi with a bird pin and a silk cami everywhere– with tartan trousers and boots. I don’t even think about it– when it’s this cold I live in my winter coat, which is ugly. What a downer! I wish I had something more inspiring.

Kristinwishing you well too… and where does a girl look at, try on, or even purchase these frye boots? i am going to nyc in two weeks and am nervous about footwear…
December 17 2007 at 6:47 pm
triciakristin: i think i saw that urban outfitters had some styles of frye’s at their stores. otherwise, i don’t know. you could always google and check their website maybe?
however, no black, at least not in the style i have. i got my pair from shopbop.com. i think UO has them in brown or something, at least the last time i checked.
nervous about footwear in general, or nervous about footwear appropriate for NYC? i wore my fryes almost every day whist in NYC in early november and was plenty warm and toasty and comfortable.
if you’re nervous about shoes in general, i can’t help!
like i said, these are REALLY well made, so that’s one thing not to be nervous about, but the price is steep. beware!

patricki’m all about the uniform in winter. i wear wooly long underwear below the waist, a wool tshirt and wool longsleeve tshirt up top, and nowadays my new green wool hoodie (hoping hrefs work, if not, sorry for the mess) on top. Wool or cargo pants on bottom. This is what i’ve been wearing pretty much every day lately, which is why no w_r posts from me!

OliAnnaTrisia! your comment is so much in time! this entire week i’ve been wearing a uniform (first time in my life!!)… guess it’s just the mood thing… no creative mood on cold mornings. my Uni is: suede boots, dark blue classic jeans, black or red long sleeve shirt, bell-shape black jacked + different ear rings and brooshes every day (rose flower, granny’s pearl broosh, fliece star…) on top of everything goes warmest dawn coat and fur beret (it’s too cold here in Russia)

janiHi Tricia,
sorry to hear you’re not feeling so great, sending my get well wishes to you.
My uniform lately is well-worn Levis, kinda baggy, a grey or white FOL Tshirt, a white button-down shirt over that, and either black converse,or tan crocs with wigwams.
It’s been so grey and nasty here in NJ, I’ve been wearing a olive Burton hooded jacket to top it all off.
Good vibes to you from the jersey shore. xxoo

CatyI love it! It reminds me of one of Kate Moss’s ensembles. I’ll try to find the image =]
December 29 2007 at 11:58 am
triciacaty: it’s ok, i don’t need to see a photo of kate moss.
if it looks anything like anything she’d wear, it’s absolutely coincidental, b/c as a rule i don’t really seek out or follow any celebrities or their fashion. thanks anyway though.
