amen to the trend rant! i've found that my body dictates certain aspects of my style- empire waists and a-line skirts always complement my figure, skinny pants and pencil skirts never do. sticking to the silhouettes i know look best on me has led me to draw inspiration from certain fashion eras in particular... sometimes these references are on "on trend," and of course sometimes they're "out of style." who cares? i may not be the trendiest gal on the block, but i get compliments from people all the time on my style. usually they remark that i have a very distinctive, unique style. not really trying to toot my own horn, but it just goes to show how remarkable it is when we don't follow the trend bandwagon-- we really stand out as individuals! of course, being such a stylish women yourself you know this only too well... keep spreading the good word! ;)
