hey all!
i’m moving quite slow this week…busy trying to get things done and also still unbelievably fatigued! i am dreadfully behind with everything at my life at the moment and for now, posting is generally taking a back seat. hopefully things will return to normal soonish.
also, thanks again for the kind words concerning le future bebe. i read each and every one and appreciate all the warm words and advice. you guys are so friendly, and so fab. and that, my dears, is really an understatement! much love to all.
on another note:
i have a request that’s especially directed at you who are fans and members of wardrobe_remix, and etsy!
what are your favorite etsy shops/sellers?
i have noticed that some wardrobe_remix(ers) mention etsy-sourced WEARABLES (THINGS YOU CAN WEAR, i.e. clothes and accessories) in their wardrobe_remix photo descriptions. i’m looking for suggestions for shops that have handmade clothing and accessories, not really so much vintage shops.
but that said, feel free to offer the latter if the latter is too amazing not to mention, if you know what i mean! i wanna hear it all.
the sooner the better…chime in today if you can, but do add a comment tomorrow and beyond if need be.
thanks!
ok, GO! ![]()

i spotted this whilst at the lovely lisa congdon’s b-day party over at her and rena’s shop here in san francisco, rare device. came into my sights and my clutches just as i was looking for a new bag. after some careful pondering, i went for it.
by rabeanco, a kind of under-the-radar bag brand from hong kong.
i love it because it’s beautifully made and designed, just large enough for me and my needs (big enough for a book, maybe my camera) and it’s decidedly lacking in all that gross metal and hardware so many bags are laden down with these days. understated=cool. also, it’s so far from the “it” bag in any way, that it’s just perfect for me. and…the price was right.
end sum: the stars were perfectly aligned.
January 20 2008 | Posted in fashion musing, i bought this.
11it’s been a while since i have done this…heck, it’s been a while since i have done a lot of things!! still insanely tired! and sick…had the stomach flu last week and felt like i was going to keel over and die (but thankfully did not!).
in all the sitting around i have been doing of late, i’ve had a lot of time to just sit there and ponder things…that i’m obsessed with. fashion obsessions! idle time is good for letting such obsessions grow and fester, don’tcha know?
so, my latest fashion obsessions are as such:
plastic (or that which resembles it) is the name of the game for me right now, apparently…? something about it’s smoothness, shine. it’s bright colors. sort of retro-futuristic?
-big, fat, honkin’ cocktail rings, like the resin ones from australia’s dinosaur designs or resin ones from NYC’s alexis bittar
-vintage german cazal eyeglass frames, very old-school hip-hop!
-clear eyeglass frames (like the fresh cazal pair shown above)
-plastic watches in super bright, saturated colors, like the zub zot watch (also shown above)
-old, eye bleedingly bright, chunky vintage sweaters from the 1970s, in colors like sunshine yellow, almost fluorescent red-orange, emerald green. things funky grandmothers or tripping hippies would have donned with relish. these are likely also made of plastic (acrylic or poly, this is one of the only clothing items i deign to tolerate that are synthetic in fiber, clothing-wise).
also:
-plastic shoes in inspired shapes (like the melissa ones’s shown above, as so often donned by in the inimitable gala darling!)
-big, brash baubles in gumball bright shades
-anything by tatty devine
so, praytell: what are your fashion obsessions of the moment? what’s nagging on your brain, aesthetically, this very second?
