Ashe MischiefThis outfit is fantastic! I love how you have so many patterns on, but they do not create an overwhelming look. Rather, it’s very subtle. Fanatastic.

AshOh my gosh, you don’t even look pregnant. Each time I was pregnant, I looked ready to deliver at 14 weeks! Lucky you!

melanieCongratulations! I can’t wait to see all of your maternity style – I’m 30 weeks pregnant and wanted to participate in wardrobe remix while I was pregnant but never got around to it. I will live vicariously through you.

Prêt-à -Porter Prostitutereminds me of prada
February 5 2008 at 2:03 pm
triciapret-a-porter prostitute: in what way? i haven’t been following prada, or really, much runway fashion, for many seasons. if you’re going to make a statement like that, elaborate and give examples!

DaniI’m 30 weeks and I swear I wear the same stuff over and over again just because I want to be comfy and cute and I know it works. My MAJOR bitch about maternity fashion is the lack of crew necks. Why do I have to deal with a scoop top? My boobs are huge, it’s almost obscene for me to wear something that’s a v or a scoop. And heck, I’m not nursing yet so I don’t need wrap around shit either.
My solution so far as been the gap. Not my normal style, but with purchases on line over $50 dollars they offer free returns. And they offer free shipping on all maternity purchases. So if you’re non-committal, it’s ok. Bless their maternity “my fav. tees” and their button down tops in colors that are seasonal. Now if only such a thing existed for bras…

janiYou look radiant! I’m so happy for you, but I don’t know about that ‘minimalist’ apt theory once you have kids! Best of luck!
February 5 2008 at 3:43 pm
triciajani: thanks. but as far as the minimal goes: it will stay that way for a while. it’s how our apartment is now, and i don’t want the place cluttered up with insipid, unnecessary toys (a few choice ones are just fine). so minimal it will be.

Caseyoh! I love that dress!! you rock those large-scale patterns with such panache, Tricia!!
oh, and happy birthday to your mom as well!!!

janiTricia, I admire you so for saying that about Your Apartment! So many new parents I know suddenly change their character when they have kids. It’s like the kids take over, and maybe they are afraid of setting the ground rules for them ?, or maybe they want their kids to like them or something? I go to their homes, and its all kid stuff All Over. The kids need limits, jmho,& that they are the Kids, and the parents are the Parents.
btw, my son jesse is living in DC, kinda gave up for the time being on SF, but he did LOVE it there. (& we miss you here on the grey east coast.
