So glad you enjoyed and discovered. Love everything you wrote. I’m going to the gallery on Saturday and will probably to a follow-up post. I really can’t wait to see how it’s all presented. I saw a bit through the window, but at the time it was packed, but I’m excited and can’t wait to explore.

jennine: i wonder about this global style too, and where it’s going (and where it is currently). honestly, though, i like seeing regional variation, i feel it makes/keeps things interesting. the globalization of culture (fashion in this case) can tend to make things, at times, a little too homogeneous…

oh wow, thanks for sharing these pics. i love it… while i do think there is a strong global aesthetic going on, i do love how it’s echoed here, but you’re right about the provincial qualities, there is still is still a strong african color palette… i wonder how all this global style is going to evolve.
