i am so achingly enamored with these embroidered, printed, and sharply draped clothing constructions from australian designer tina kalivas, i almost feel as if i am might hyperventilate. the bold lines and innovative cuts are brilliantly paired with the colorful lines and shapes of the textured, colorful textiles. this collection is “ethnic”, yes (whatever that means!) but it’s incredibly of the now (and likely, the later, and forever more). good is good always, no?

  1. “Ethnic” is the white word for “cultures that aren’t white”, usually in the sense that they are exotic and foreign.

  2. nadia: i know. i was poking fun at the “ethnic” trend, and other people’s use of the word “ethnic” in regard to fashion/fashion trends.

  3. Dying for these prints and love the origami construction. The middle top is just killing me.
