gathering clouds: cloud brooches by paper boat press

i’ve had a link to these ceramic cloud brooches by paper boat press open in my browser for about, oh, two months or so. ha! i just keep going back to their shop and marveling at their cuteness. simple, graphic….so nice. in the interest of cleaning up my browser tab insanity, i’m sharing my obsession…

as with the quilt block pins in my last post, i think these would look particularly perfect in a small group off to the side on the chest of any interesting sweater or jacket.

…in fact, i think pretty much anything looks better in a group! multiples = collections = awesome. :)

i love, love, love these miniature quilt block pins by ShadyGroveStudios…tiny little fabric jewels that (i think) would look mighty fine gathered in a group on the side front of an otherwise plain blazer or sweater.

(btw: i LOVE that fall is fast approaching. you too? i love the nice cool weather!)

pickin’ and grinnin’ (and later, cannin’)

pears

gnawing on a pilfered apple

peaches and apples

over the long weekend, our little family took a little roadtrip out to lyman orchards, in middletown, ct, to pick peaches, apples and pears. we bought many, many pounds of each, and very soon, we’re going to attempt to can some of them.

we also have a MOUNTAIN of cucumbers (not shown here) from our garden that need to be turned into relish and pickles.

we definitely have got our work cut out for us…haha!

anyone out there into canning? have any good recipes you’d care to share?
