in recent weeks, i got a bug in my butt to move and improve things around our place. maybe i was inspired by the newness and rebirth of spring, or by the fact that we’ve signed on to live in our current apartment for another year, or by seeing peeps (like frecklewonder) reorganizing and improving their lovely abodes. likely it was all of the above.

i’m pretty happy with the way things turned out…at least, for now. :)

  1. Gorgeous! I really love mostly white rooms with rainbow accents… it looks clean and cheerful at the same time.

  2. I love the white walls with the bright colors. That white locker from IKEA has been on my wishlist forever, except in red! I wish my Grace could still sleep in a crib…I also have that yellow lamp near your bed! And foofa and plex!!! I kind of love yo gabba gabba. We haven’t watched it in so long because we’ve had Super Why on, but I’m ready to pull my hair out. Have you ever heard of signing times? Rachel Coleman that does the series is fantastic, and she’s got a lot of bright colors too – check out “Box of Crayons,” they sing and sign songs about the colors of the rainbow, and rainbow salad. :) Also, that blue and green print (?) in the last picture is gorgeous, as well. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

  3. We’re renting another year too, but I’ve been daydreaming about a bigger house like mad lately. Our newest plan is to buy land and build our own house, but basically live in a cheap manufactured home on the plot until it is finished. I’m even excited about living in a trailer as long as it has double the square foot as our current shoebox! They can be kind of funky looking if you do it right.

Great to see this post of yours. Lovely eye candy (and words) as ever.

  4. oh, i love these photos! really inspiring, tricia. i also love reorganizing our flat in spring, but unfortunately, i’m only at home on the weekends lately (i’m studying in a different city). but in my holidays (in summer), i will get to re-do our home a bit… yeah!

  5. The colors in your home are just so happy! I love the striped quilt on the bed. Did you make it? We’ve really been wanting to dive into home ownership, too, but it’s not as easy as I’d like it to be. I just like to think about fun renovations and decorating, but all the boring credit and financial stuff gets in the way! Good luck with everything :)

  6. does that crib turn into a twin? i’ve been looking for something like this. do you remember where you got it?

  7. liza: nope, i did not make the quilt; it was from target, sometime last year.

jill: the crib is the gulliver from ikea (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20203332), it can drop a side to be a toddler bed of sorts, but no, it doesn’t turn into a twin.

  8. love your apartment!!!

  9. That all looks very very cool! What a jealousmaking spacious bedroom you have with such wonderful lighting. And I’m in love with your color palette!
