My quilt was in a gallery show this spring!
Hosted by Gallery EOSS at Watermark Gallery in East Providence, Rhode Island, the exhibit showcased the quilt art of ten artists (including myself). Quilt collector and author Bill Volckening of Portland, Oregon curated the show.
The show featured quilts made by Melissa Averinos of West Barnstable, Massachusetts; Teresa Coates of Portland, Oregon; Lynn Harris of Chelsea, Michigan; Mandy Leins of Saratoga Springs, New York; Tricia Royal of Chicago (that's me!); Denyse Schmidt of Bridgeport, Connecticut; Maria Shell of Anchorage, Alaska; Gail Weiss of Portland, Oregon; Victoria Findlay Wolfe of New York City; and Sherri Lynn Wood of Oakland, California.
The exhibit was on display from March 18th to April 10th, 2016.
I flew out to Providence to attend the Friday night opening. Melissa and I did an unplanned but fun Q&A toward the end of the night about our quilts and answered questions about our art/quiltmaking practice with the folks who came to the opening.
It's the first gallery show that my work has been in and it was a real honor to have been included amongst such a fantastic group of women artists.
Big thanks to Peter Cameron of Watermark Gallery, Mark Goodkin, and Bill Volckening!
