creative to-do lists: what's yours look like?

i'm forever making creative to-do lists!
my creative to-do lists usually are comprised of the following sorts of items: specific creative projects i want to tackle, art of craft classes i'm yearning to take...things of that nature. sometimes they are centered upon a specific creative project, listing the items or tasks i need in order to bring that project to life. it's sort an adjunct to other brainstorming and organizational practices, like making a mood board (something i've gone on and on about here many times before).
simply getting these ideas and intentions out on paper, or typing them out into a computer program specifically like omni-outliner (an awesome outlining program my husband turned me on to long ago, which i use constantly) is immensely helpful because it allows me to braindump, organize the tasks and ideas i have and want to accomplish, and keeps me (somewhat!) accountable to actually getting those tasks accomplished and those ideas fulfilled.

my current creative to-do list currently looks something like this:
-get personal business cards printed (finally!...i need them for like, everything?) -finish setting up my Etsy store (where i'll soon be selling some handmade wearable pieces and more (by me!), plus some choice vintage finds, so stay tuned!) -quilt and bind the quilt i made over the summer (got stuck on the quilting bit, need to research best way of quilting, from some resource that has good, thorough instructions!) -buy laminate board to serve as portable palette for silkscreening (maybe stop by scrap here in SF?) -take ceramics class (perhaps at the clay studio, which is one block from my house?) -take patternmaking classes (to get back into the swing of things and keep up with skills) -take drawing class! -just plain draw, as often as possible (got out of the habit due to uh, life, work, writing, etc.!) -improve my photography skills, master my DSLR/SLR. -knit or crochet a bright, sunshine yellow beret (searching around on ravelry for something suitable as i type this...but this one is rather nice, i must say!) -design a high-waisted, full skirt, softly gathered into the waist, perhaps make it out of some sort of black, crisp, stiff silk -design a simple drop sleeve blouse that i plan to fashion out of metallic gold lace (which i plan to wear under the metallic gold tank and gold leather skirt i thrifted many moons ago) -make more cocktail hats

what about you? what is currently on your creative to-do list?
does keeping lists help you? do you find that writing things down keeps you on task and accountable? or do you write it down, and forget it and never get around to the things you want to do? :)
chime in, if you please!

crazy days!

it's been a crazy week for me. and here's why: -working my part-time job monday and today -doing some research for some freelance work -drs. appointment -a little socializing with work mates -making curtains to serve as closet doors in the bedroom area (photos sometime soon, check flickr!) -and um, a little 5.6 magnitude earthquake tuesday evening that scared the daylights out of me! whoa. my first major-ish quake. gave me a panic attack! our whole loft building rolled back and forth for about 20 seconds but my heart was pounding right out of my chest for a heck of a lot longer. no damage, for us, or really, anyone, as far as i heard from reading some early news reports. thank goodness.

also, i mentioned this before, but i will be in NYC next wednesday through the following monday. it's the first time we're been back since we moved from there in august of last year, and i am really excited. not sure if i'll dig my feet in and refuse to fly back home or what! ha! actually, i'm sure i'll be okay...i'm starting to really feel my groove in SF, which is really lovely, after such a rough year.

following the NYC visit, i'll be down in the orlando, florida area for 5 days, until the 17th visiting family and some friends, and i plan on thrifting like a maniac while there, of course. i hope to come back with some good stuff! *crosses fingers*

favorites...and stuff.

faves. period. yea!

the reason for my recent busy-ness of late can now be revealed: i was helping to build content for TWINE, a new knowledge-sharing/social-networking-website that utilizes the technology associated the semantic web (making the web "smarter," by connecting and making associations between bits of information/data).
we announced the product and launched the closed beta this past friday! it's the same company my husband pete works for; he's been working on the foundations of the project for several years now. so nice to see it finally happening, and it's nice to know i could do something to help! sign up for the closed beta at twine.com, learn more here, and stay tuned...i'll probably tell you more about the site and how you can use it at a later date.

in the midst of all that hard work, i did take some time to dream of, obsess over, and indulge in more fashion-y, and just plain enjoying-the-good-life everyday things, such like:
-all manner of boots: i am glad boot-weather is inching back in, as i can wear all my new and vintage boots! yay! however, i may eat those words when the cold weather inevitably drags on ad nauseam here in SF next summer...
-pomegranate seeds. pomegranates are back in season again, and they especially delicious in vanilla yogurt in the morning! now, where are the blood oranges?
-homemade limoncello, made by my dear friend jessica. she made some and brought it to the party we had the weekend before last, and we just polished off the remnants in the mid-week that just commenced. absolutely scrumptious, jess! we drank it out of our little french shot glasses, making the experience that much more lovely, of course.
-i am all over the jeu de paumes book series...they are, in short, little jewel like books filled with delicious eye candy from a small japanese press that are filled with inspirational photographs of the interiors of european apartments, artists' studios, shoppes, kitchens, childrens rooms, and more. quirky, colorful, playful, novel goodness. i snapped up stockholm's kitchens @ SF's kinokuniya yesterday, and i am actually pondering riding my bike back up to japantown later this afternoon for a few other books from the series. i'd especially love to get this one.
