what do you do for a living? or, if you are a student, what are you
studying?
I work for the search engine Ask.com as a linguist.
what are your passions/obsessions?
I love opera, painting, literature, natural history, languages, and dance.
what inspires you?
Opera, dance, botany, pastries, fairy tales, and my friends.
how do you define "style"?
A thoughtful combination of proportions and colors that makes some sort of coherent statement.
how would you describe your personal style?
Absurd, colorful, eclectic. I enjoy intentionally breaking fashion rules.
how does your background (personal history, passions, culture,
nationality, etc.) come through in the clothes you like and wear, if
at all?
I like clothes with dramatic flair, probably because I'm a dancer.
choose one item in your closet that you feel completely expresses
your personal style and/or aesthetic. describe it. what is it and
why is it "you"?
My vintage red slip with black embroidery is just like me, versatile, bold, but also having a certain demure quality.
do you collect anything? if so, what?
Hats, vintage slips, scarves, and books.
what are some of your favorite places to shop when you want to add
to your wardrobe? online? locally? anywhere in the world? why are
these places favorites of yours?
Seattle, especially That's Atomic, Red Light, Le Frock, and Pretty Parlor. For stockings and tights the Italians and Austrians make great patterns.
does your location (where you live) affect your style? if so, in
what ways? describe what your city is like in regard to fashion.
The Bay Area in general is rather open and accepting, so I feel free to dress however I like.
what do you think is next in terms of fashion? perhaps something
that is currently flying under the radar, but could be really cool an
popular later, or perhaps something amazing you'd like to see more
of that needs to come back or be the new thing?
Pinafores and maryjanes.

Through persephassa's Live Journal. I am definitely wearing more of my extensive wardrobe because of wardrobe_remix.
other favorite wardrobe_remix(ers)? who, and why?
Iconoclastic has a good mix of fun and sleek looks, henpower is charming in his bicycle friendly outfits, vasiliisa has wonderful patterns and colors, mbibelot is elegant, becktress has gorgeous dresses, ivyfrozen has fine 70s hand me downs from mom, bustling, and belts, midoritsuru has such a sense of color and her head-wraps are great, and I love graygoosie's aprons.
