wardrobe_remix at Maker Faire, SF Bay Area!

just wanted to get the word out: i'll be doing a little presentation on wardrobe_remix this coming sunday, may 20th, from 12-12:30pm at the Maker Faire, Bay Area, in san mateo, california!

the subject? basically, what wardrobe_remix is all about, how it started, what makes it special, how to participate, and what makes a good w_r photo! stuff like that. cool? cool.

plus, i'll be giving out thrifting tips and suggestions ways to mix up your wardrobe, too! fun, right?

so if you're already planning on being there and checking out all the fun makers and fun exhibits and stuff, why not swing by take a listen, and assure me my public speaking skills aren't completely horrible!?

travel journal

in order to remember and celebrate my recent travels in europe, i decided i would keep a travel journal in a moleskine i've had for some time that was laying fallow.

it was a lot of fun! as you can see, it's packed full of random tickets, maps, postcards, pamphlets and other pieces of ephemera i collected on the trip, along with my crappy, illegible handwriting detailing some of my thoughts and observations along the way, along with some half-assed doodles, embellished with colored pencil, markers, and gouache paint (the last of which i picked up at an art supply store i stumbled across on my travels).

so, it's not exactly pretty, but a lot of fun and great for filling up bits of downtime (like, when riding on trains between cities, decompressing at the end of the day, and so forth).

i'm still working on it (time got away from me)...i want to add more drawings, color, and the like, and i want to add some photographs from the trip as well. fun fun!

wardrobe_remix in Adorn Magazine! again!

the summer 2007 issue of Adorn Magazine is out! in it is the second installment of my column in the magazine, called "remix_redux", featuring the photos of four amazing wardrobe_remix contributors: gala darling, sara, michelle citrin, and erica mc clendon. thanks for participating ladies!  the summer column is all about amazing accessories, and how they take an outfit to the next level.

and thanks to everyone over at wardrobe_remix who keeps it real, on topic, true to it's mission, and make it what it is! you rock. really and truly!
